KLIA and klia2 have become hotbeds for gastronomy, both airports home to scores of restaurants offering a comprehensive range of cuisines. The Taste of Malaysia Airports showcase will be featuring three that have made their mark on the local food scene over the years.
Head over to the Malaysia Airports booth and you’ll find Bumbu Desa which offers the best of Indonesian cuisine with a unique spread of Padang, Sunda and Malay specialties. Founded in Bandung, Indonesia, the restaurant was awarded the Dining Choice Award 2017 by Malaysia Airports and continues to draw diners with its rich menu of Sundanese recipes.
Also present is Fukuya @KLIA, which is a must-visit for those who love authentic Japanese cuisine. Visitors should not miss the newly created Hotate Miso Soup (miso soup with scallops) which is specially created to celebrate this year’s Taste MIGF event. Other best sellers to look out for from Fukuya include Unagi Uramaki (deep fried spicy sea eel roll) and Shake Uramaki (deep fried spicy salmon roll).
Finally, for all-time Malaysia favourites, Grandmama’s is the place with traditional flavours like ayam masak merah, fish head curry, satay, nasi ayam and nasi lemak. It’s the perfect place to enjoy some true comfort food and take a load off before or after your flight!
Throughout the month-long MIGF 2018 celebration in September, these three restaurants will also provide a special menu for their signature dishes at their KLIA outlets.
