Macao’s dedication to food and the important role it plays in developing tourism and the economy has been rewarded on a worldwide scale. In unveiling its latest list of “Creative Cities”, UNESCO announced that Macao has been recognised among an elite number of cities for its gastronomy.
The designation is set to bring new opportunities for the city to diversify the economy. Gastronomy now acts as a driver to preserve Macao’s cultural identity, while promoting sustainable development and expanding international cooperation.
This year, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has invited Chef Sandra Niza Barros to join Taste MIGF by introducing her signature pastry. She’ll be conducting an exclusive MasterChef Cooking Class from 1pm-2.30pm on both days, to showcase how to prepare authentic Macanese cuisines in a modern contemporary way.
Visitors can also test their mettle on a Grand Prix Simulator, in conjunction with celebrations for the 65th celebration of the Macao Grand Prix. Hop on an experience the fun and excitement of racing on the virtual Guia Race Track, one of the most challenging race tracks in the world!
Finally, a snap and win contest will give visitors a chance to win a three day, two night trip to the ‘Vegas Of China’ for two! Just take a picture in the Macao Suite and share it to social media with the hashtags #ExperienceMacao #MacaoTasteMIGF.
