At the tender age of 29, Chef Hasmeet Chaal is the youngest chef in MIGF 2014, but boasts a resume to rival even the most experienced of culinary masters with stints in top local and international restaurants that include Nobu, Marini’s on 57 and Andaman Langkawi.

This exuberant chef’s fascination with food began at 15, when he would sneak out of school in London to follow chefs to the gardens and watch as they picked fresh produce. From there, his passion to cook and create only grew, and it is one he hopes to instil in others with the same love for the culinary arts in Malaysia by taking them under his wing.

He confesses to being so excited for MIGF that he could barely sleep for dreaming up Festival Menu ideas. This dynamic chef will be one to watch.
