One of the most senior chefs in this year’s MIGF lineup, Chef Raymond Tan has extensive international culinary knowledge garnered from over 20 years with several world-class hotel chains in Asia and Western Europe. He has participated in numerous international level gourmet festivals across the region, gaining valuable cross-cultural exposure from an array of cuisines.

His simple love to eat and his desire to reciprocate his mother’s priceless care and guidance with delicious recipes eventually drove him towards a career as a professional chef. Chef Raymond’s ambition was further cemented in the early 1990’s during his apprenticeship with the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where he was acknowledged to be one of the best young chefs.

Chef Raymond’s professional life is intertwined with his inherent passion to present fine cuisine. Actively involved in this year’s MIGF, it is his aspiration to weave in Malaysian hospitality with a selection of distinctive dishes from the recently introduced New Orleans Bar & Grill.
