Chinese Executive Chef Chan Yiu So, a Hong Kong national has over 30 years of experience in the culinary industry. Before joining Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Chef Chan was the Executive Chef at Kempinski Hotel in Dalian, China. Prior to that, Chef Chan was with the Shangri-La Group for nine years, starting as an Assistant Chinese Chef at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore before being promoted to Chinese Executive Chef at Edsa Shangri-La in Manila. He gained more international work experience at Shangri-La Hotel in Surabaya, Indonesia and Shangri-La Hotel in Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi.
In his capacity, Chef Chan is set to lead a brigade of able chefs by bringing his initiative, creativity and excellent knowledge of culinary trends to Shang Palace. He will be heavily involved in the training and development of his culinary team to ensure that all dishes prepared in the kitchen of Shang Palace meet the hotel’s high standard.
