Chef Cedric Darthial has worked with renowned restaurants in 5-star hotels around the world and is now appointed as Chef de Cuisine of Mandarin Grill, Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur. With a deep passion for meat dishes, Chef Darthial will definitely not disappoint food connoisseurs at Mandarin Grill. His refined dishes are a testimony of his outstanding work experience, having worked in Michelin Star restaurants as well as being awarded the Best Chef of the Year 2009 in Dubai.
Starting out as a man who was more interested in being a lawyer, his journey took a turn when he started working part time at a family friend's restaurant. Ever since he laid his hands on the kitchen equipment, there was no turning back. Being in the kitchen felt more natural to him than anything he's ever done before.
"I prefer to use fresh French products for my dishes such as foie gras and truffles, but of course my priority is to ensure all my creations reflect the healthiest and freshest product," says Chef Darthial. "Apart from culinary creations, another most important thing for a chef is teamwork. This is because I believe every memorable meal is created by a team that works together marvelously."
Hailing from France and having worked in various countries, Chef Darthial loves to travel extensively, as he consider each of his travelling experience his main source of inspiration. With a true passion for gastronomical wonders, he believes in having the freedom to create innovative culinary delights that will impress food aficionados and leave them with a lasting impression of his creations.
