 Chef Ahmad Nurul Azri is the Chef de Cuisine for Makan Kitchen at the newly opened Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur. Selangor-born, 36, Chef Azri enjoys cooking as he loves to eat! Professionally trained in culinary, he has been in the circuit for nine years having worked in different 5-star international hotels.
Chef Azri who developed a liking for cooking since he was only a boy of nine-years-old, believes that everyone can cook but the challenge to him is, cooking from the heart. According to Chef Azri, only food that's cooked with love will taste good. He specialises in Malay cuisine and is proud of his treasured recipes inherited from his grandmother. His signature dishes at Makan Kitchen include grilled fish with dark soya sauce and ayam percik. In his capacity as Chef de Cuisine for Makan Kitchen, Chef Azri oversees the other two kitchens; Iban/ Indian/ Kristang and Nyonya/ Chinese. His aspiration for Makan Kitchen is to make the restaurant a true showcase of Malaysian dining.
