Decked out in the warm tones of cinnabar, mustard and brown, lavishly accented with old gold, Shang Palace offers Cantonese cuisine at its finest. The restaurant’s classic décor—which features elegant woodcarvings with floral motifs, Chinese calligraphy and pastoral paintings—reflects ancient Chinese glory and grandeur, while its sumptuous cuisine is prepared by Hong Kong master chefs and served in majestic style befitting an Emperor.

THE CHEF
Chef David Leung from Hong Kong demonstrated his interest in cooking from a very young age. His education began in his family kitchen, where he learned the fundamentals of the culinary arts, and went on in his apprenticeships in restaurants, leading to work in numerous locations around Asia, including the Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Korea.
Specialising in Cantonese cuisine, Chef Leung is well known for his seafood dishes, particularly those with shark’s fin, abalone and bird’s nest. He also enjoys integrating his culinary experiences in the various countries he’s worked in, into his cooking. Among the dignitaries who have enjoyed Chef Leung’s creations are the Presidents of China and Sri Lanka, President Aquino, and Thai royalty.
