Special Events for MIGF
Malaysia’s Festival restaurants are pulling out all the stops by offering exciting special events, cooking classes, gourmet tours and more to make the inaugural Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) a true ‘can't miss’ event. Here we highlight some of them.

TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE
Dining Safaris
Fancy doing a tour in the culinary jungle? For just RM198++ per person you can try the ‘Westin 7-course Dining Safari’. You get 3 starters at either EEST or Prego followed by 4 mains and desserts at either restaurant, ending up with Mojita and Salsa at QBA. The Safari Dinner with Pick Up throws in a chauffeur driven Mercedes-Benz at a package price for two of only RM598++. However the ultimate is the ‘Westin Grand Safari’, where in addition to the Mercedes-Benz pick up you get an overnight stay at the hotel in their Executive Club Room with privileged access to the Executive Club Lounge and breakfast for two for just RM998++.
Not to be outdone, the Shangri-La KL offers ‘The Running Table Gourmet Tour’ for RM510++ per person. The evening starts at the Lobby Lounge with an aperitif followed by a five course menu featuring dishes from Zipangu, Shang Palace, Lafite and Lemon Garden 2 Go. Matching beverages are included in the journey.
In historical Melaka, Capers at the Renaissance, is offering its ‘Escape! PackageGallivanting on Pedals’ for RM488++. It’s a fantastic package that you won’t forget with a night’s accommodation in a Superior room; a buffet breakfast for two adults and two children (4-12) at Summerfields Coffee House; a Festival menu dinner for two persons; welcome beverage upon arrival; traditional Nyonya cakes served in room at night; a mystery gift and to top it all off, a return trishaw ride to and from Jonker Streetthe most historic street in Melaka. |

JETSETTING CHEFS
In Genting, The Olive will host a special pre-festival event when Chef Volker Drkosch (2429 October), a Michelin star chef, will cook his highly regarded recipes there.
Also on the Michelin star roster is Chef Joel Atunes (310 November), a food artist famed in his native France and Chef Ramon Freixa Reira from Barcelona (15 19 November) also delivering up passionate dishes to Festival diners.
Prego in the Westin KL hosts Celebrity Chef Alfredo Russo from 15 November. Chef Alfredo offers his Wine Dinner with Gianni Gagliardo wines on 3rd November and hosts a cooking class on 4 November, allowing diners to walk away with some of the chef's insights into gourmet food preparation.
Celebrity Chef Marc Orfaly joins from 1519 November, bringing his Roman Cuisine to diners in a Wine Dinner with Allegrini wines on 15 and 16 November before opening up his kitchen to teach the secrets of cooking contemporary Roman Cuisine on 18 November.

In EEST, winemaker, Cyril Brun, arrives on 2 November to conduct a Veuve Clicquot Master Class and a Winemaker’s Dinner on the same day. Later from 819 November, Dumplings and Noodles Chefs from Xian, China grace the stage. Zhao Bao Yin, Guo Jun Ling and Wei Jian Quan provide diners an exclusive a la carte menu and open up the kitchen to diners on Saturdays to afford patrons a unique insight into the art of Chinese cuisine preparation. The three chefs will host Cooking Classes on 11 and 18 November priced at RM168++ inclusive of a dim sum brunch after the class, an apron and recipe cards.
Celebrity Chef Zakary Pelaccio offers a Wine Dinner with Barossa wines on 22 and 23 November with a cooking class on November 25. Last but not least Chef Ibrahim will give a cooking demonstration on 11 November that will set your tongue a wagging.
